Join us at the Wisconsin Land Information Association's annual conference for a 3-hour workshop on Data Visualization Essentials. 

Workshop Description

Communicating with data is a key aspect of GIS. In this technical session you will learn best practices for presenting your data visually and telling stories that bring your data to life. Attend this session to discover why data visualization is an important communication tool, how to create great data visualizations, and how to effectively communicate with storytelling techniques.

You'll also take away some tips for building better charts in Excel, choosing colors, enhancing your StoryMaps, and more!

    Jami Dennis, GISP

    Jami Dennis has over twenty-five years of experience in GIS, socio-economic research, demographic studies, data analysis, and data visualization. Her background also includes extensive experience in GIS for transportation, conservation, database development, graphic design, and web development/design. She worked in both state and regional government in Arizona for twenty-five years. She now works in private practice on GIS, data analysis, and data visualization projects. She serves on the Board for the GIS Certification Institute and is co-founder of the Arizona chapter for Women In GIS.
